The Baptism of Jesus

Verses: Psalm 29:1- 9 and Luke 3:15–17, 21–22

After Christmas the church calendar takes us to the season of Epiphany leading to Easter. We often focus on the Baptism of Jesusand we will do so today.

Paul wrote to the believers in Philippi that Jesus, being in very nature God, did not consider this to be used for His advantage, but chose rather to take on the very nature of a servant in human likeness. He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to being baptised and to death on a cross
